What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are substances used to fill the lines in the upper /lower face and replace the lost volume in the face, neck, hands, buttock and calves. They are also used for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty ( to improve the nose dips and profile), tear trough treatment/correction to improve the hollows in the eye area and lip augmentation. There are also specific dermal fillers designed to hydrate the skin.
What do dermal fillers contain?
Most of the dermal fillers contain one of the natural ingredients of our skin, hyaluronic acid modified to last for a long period of time. Example of such fillers is Juvederm range, Restylane range, Teosyal range etc. Some fillers contain calcium such as Radiesse and Ellanse range.
What are the common areas treated with dermal fillers?
We use dermal fillers for cheek augmentation ( with Juvederm Voluma) ; temple volume replacement ( with Juvederm Voluma); lip augmentation with Juvederm smile/Ultra 3/Ultra4, chin and jaw augmentation and definition using Juvederm Volux/Voluma/ Restylane Lyft , Nasolabial folds(mouth to nose lines) using Juvederm Ultra 4/ Restylane LYFT; Non-surgical Rhinoplasty using Restylane LYFT/ Juvederm Volift, Tear Trough correction with Teosyal Redensity 2 /Restylane LYFT; décolletage volume augmentation using Radiesse and augmentation of the hand volume using Radiesse.

What are the side effects of dermal filler treatment?
Generally dermal fillers are safe to inject. Infrequently we can develop side effects from the dermal filler treatment. These side effects include bruising (areas more prone to bruise include smoker’s lines, lips and chin), swelling, and a potential of developing lumps that are treatable easily with massaging / filler dissolve treatment and migration.
